eDay This WEEKEND!
Do you know what eDay is?
From 9.00am to 3.00pm this saturday (6 November) at New Plymouth District Council’s Hobson Street depot
in New Plymouth volunteers will receive your electronic waste for safe disposal as part of a free
nationwide e-waste programme.
They are expecting to collect 48 tonnes of e-waste in New Plymouth on eDay-and up to 1,500 tonnes nationally
that would otherwise have gone to landfills.
Recycling old PCs, computer peripherals such as faxes, printers, mobil phones and digital cameras through eDay
means that valuable materials such as gold, copper and aluminium can be recovered for reuse, instead of going to landfills.
Tomorrow Saturday is eDay in New Plymouth it will help to dispose of outdated computer equipment in a environmentally friendly way.
eDay 2010 is a drive through community event aimed at hoseholds, schools and small business and is open to cars only.
Business or organisations with large quantities of eWaste should visit http://www.eday.org.nz for alternate disposal options and more
information about recycling options.
It is not for TVs that will be coming up soon.
